The English Reformed Church is part of the International Presbytery, since 2016 a full-fledged Presbytery within the Church of Scotland. Every six months presbyters (ministers and elders in preferably equal numbers) come together to discuss matters of the Presbytery. Each year the Presbytery elect ministers and elders to represent the Presbytery in the General Assembly held in Edinburgh, which is the highest church body. Both Presbyteries and the Church of Scotland are presided by a Moderator, who changes each year.
On 12-13-14 October the International Presbytery is meeting in Amsterdam our church is hosting around 40 representatives from congregations in Rotterdam, Lausanne, Brussels, Geneva, Budapest, Gibraltar, Paris, Colombo, Bochum, Malta, Lisbon, Bermuda, Jerusalem, and Fuengirola.
