On 26 August visitors from different denominations and all over the world came together to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the World Council of Churches.

The day began with a symposium on Hospitality held at the Vrij Universiteit under the titel of “On a Pilgrim’s Way of Justice and Peace” which was recorded as a TED Talk.

The symposium was followed by a Walk of Peace through Amsterdam with more that 200 people attending we were welcomed by the Salvation Army band. The day ended with a service held in the Nieuwe Kerk

Many special guests included Kevin Mackenzie from the Church of Scotland and Ingrid Sorensen representing the English Reformed Church Amsterdam.
