"ANNO 1607. In the yeare of our Lord and Saviour 1607 and on the fourth daye of the moneth of February, after the new stile, about 4 of the clock in the afternoone, was the Church in the round Baginehoff opened in presence of Mijnheer De Schout and D. Petrus Plancius Minister of the Dutch Church att Amsterdam and att that present was the pulpitt brought in, and set up for the use of the English Church att Amsterdam, publiquely erected by the consent of the honourable the Senate of the forenamed city : which their love and bountye towards us of the English nation the Lord repay unto them a thousand folde in this life and in the life to come with eternal happiness.Amen.
The 5 of Febr. following being the Lords day betwixt 9 and 10 of the clock in the forenoone after prayer and thanksgiving to God for his mercy in this work begun, did Mr. John Pagett (who was called to be pastor of this English Church) preach the first sermon in the aforsaid Church, and his text was Psalm 51 : 10,
Create in me a cleane heart, O God."

- John Leighton, formerly director of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, now Director of the National Galleries of Scotland, will talk about Mondriaan and Van Gogh who both have connections with our church.
- Richard Egarr, Director of The Academy of the Begijnhof and Musical Director of The Academy of Ancient Music, together with friends, will play music by Locatelli and tell us about this colourful Italian composer who lived in Amsterdam and was buried in our church.
