News update from our minister

Dear Friends,

Greetings to you all at the end of another week in the Corona-crisis: another week of online services and a closed church, apart from a few activities.

Our small group which is planning our return to ‘live’ worship and which includes some elders and others met this week to discuss our next moves. It seemed to us that the situation is still very uncertain: there is good news of reduced infections and an easing of lockdown, but we are aware that there could very easily be a second ‘spike’ which might tighten things up again. So it is hard to make long-term decisions right now and we will be meeting again to discuss the state of play at the end of July.

For now the situation remains the same: we are not planning to return to live services before September. There are several uncertainties: for example, if we do return to church, can we sing? The jury seems to be out at the moment on this and how much of a risk of spreading infection is constituted by singing, but that is the sort of issue that requires further thought and further direction.

I and the Consistory will do our best to keep you informed as best we can.

Below is the programme of events THIS WEEK:

Sunday 10.30 (or any other time, it’s prerecorded).
The service will be led this week by Pastor Lance. Our passage is Romans 6:12-23.

In a time like this, there may be people who feel especially in need of prayer either for themselves or for someone else. There is a small group of people in the congregation who take it in turns on Sundays to be available after the service to pray for anyone in need – so, if you would like prayer or have a particular prayer request please contact Margaret Richards on and she and the others will pray accordingly.

A word about finance….
Please note that in this period when we are not meeting together there is a way of giving to the church on this website. Please use the PayPal donation button on the right.

God bless you all and keep us united as a church family – and safe and well.
