Dear Friends of Mulanje Mission Hospital,
We are glad to bring you another edition of Mulanje Mission Hospital newsletter, keeping you informed of what goes on in our Hospital and also how your continued support helps us carry on God's work. Your contribution to our expansion and growth is highly appreciated. The past four months saw the introduction of Anti retro-viral therapy (ART) for AIDS patients living in our catchment area. Although not with its teething problems in the first weeks, we have now reached a capacity of 73 patients and still expanding. The main hiccup for ART clinic at the moment is lack of working space for this extra service, there are plans to construct more rooms. And also there is sometimes a perpetual shortage of drugs like Ciprofloxacilin and Fluconazole, used in treating AIDS opportunistic infections. Two more Clinical Officers were trained for the ART program, Suave Gombwa and Rodney Gonani. Paul Nyasulu, 2nd ART coordinator, told me that their future plans is to expand the ART services outside our catchment area and also develop AIDS support groups where among other things nutritional supplements are to be provided.
Keep reading our newsletter (out end of the month) and helping us building capacity!
yours in His service,
