Weddings

Weddings In the Netherlands, it is a legal requirement for a civil marriage ceremony to take place first. Contact the local civil authority where you live.

A wedding (which is then technically a service of blessing) may follow in our church. This can be on the same day as the civil requirement, or at some later date. The historic English church in the beautiful Begijnhof is a popular location for weddings and other ministers are also welcome to conduct weddings there. Our minister is happy to offer marriage preparation classes if desired.

If you would like to have details about the services we offer for weddings, and about the associated costs, please contact the Minister via our Contact form selecting the department ‘Minister’.

Baptism and Blessing

BaptismThe English Reformed Church is part of the Church of Scotland, and Baptismal services are conducted according to the practice of the Church of Scotland.

Baptism is the means by which a person is incorporated into the community of faith and entrusted to the care and nurture of the congregation. This is accompanied by vows of commitment.

The English Reformed Church rejoices in the baptism of children, or alternatively the practice of thanksgiving and blessing. The minister is happy to discuss with parents which might be appropriate and what is involved.

For more information about Baptism please contact the Minister via our Contact form selecting the department ‘Minister’.
